Description
First album with more than 35 hours of inspirational and ecstatic live recorded kirtans. The event itself had a staggering 50 hours of kirtan to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Society for Krsna Consciousness (ISKCON). In particular, the festival was dedicated to Srila Prabhupada who is non other than the founder of the movement as well as the figure who brought the chanting of the Holy Names or Kirtan to the western world. We try to follow in his footsteps

Perhaps this is the event during which we struggled the most to record the festival kirtans. A last minute denial of his visa meant that Nama could not join us loosing in this way 50% of our professional man power. NS did his best to guide our team with the setup and Krishna Das did his best to manage everything with the support of Raktambara. We did loose several hours of kirtan due to glitches and other technical difficulties, but we still came up with 35 hours of inspiring recordings. For the following year Manu and KD worked through all the recordings repairing and redoing them countless time until we finally were able to release it for Christmas.
Thank you also to Chandra as always for the incredible cover, Bimala for the pictures, and Kardami for his incredible art piece (Srila Prabhupada Mural) that planted the seed for the deep chanting mood that was present during the festival
